Conclusion of a military agreement between Great Britain/colonies of Canada and the United States of America following the War of 1812. This agreement of 1817, negotiated by Mr. Charles Bagot (UK) and Mr. Richard Rush (US), is still in effect and recognized by both Canada the United States. Mr. Bagot later became Governor-General of British North America (Canada). He died in 1843 in Kingston, Ontario.
